I've been a fan of Max Richter for years. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Vivaldi. Vivaldi is truly the Baroque composer who recomposed the same concerto 500 times! How appropriate that he receive a new, and vastly superior recomposition of his tired "Four Seasons"! I highly recommend this album. I was trained classically on the piano since the age of 7, and I know a superior version when I hear it! Max Richter tops Vivaldi here! Mind you, considering the vastly overrated historical material, that is not a difficult task! This is a minimalist and neo-classical take on a composition that has received far too much attention over the years.

Season Two itself is very good, although not quite as superb as… Read more
Don't bother trying to purchase the special edition here. Just go order your copy through Brian Eno's web site in the U.K. and you can make a secure payment through Pay Pal. The price is very reasonable (about $40 CND, with delivery to Canada), and the 2 disc set, housed handsomely in an artfully designed box and hardcover book is all worth every penny of the money I paid. Also, I find myself actually preferring the instrumental disc to the original one with spoken poems. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You can find Brian Eno's store at: [...]
