I origially bought this album used on vinyl. Played it alot and went on to get every subsequent album by him. I guess my favourite is this and The Abominable Showman (the album he was promoting when I first saw him.) I was slow to get the cd versions of his albums and was bummed that this was either unavailable or a highly priced import. I'm glad that Yep Roc is releasing his albums now. I hope they do all of them! This one has great sound and the liner notes are very interesting. Hard to pick a favourite song from this album as it always changes. American Squirm and Skin Deep are excellent songs for the uninitiated. A very consistent album and I highly recommend it.

The style of the movie at the beginning was interesting but my interested waned and then I was frustrated watching this film. I've got to say that the performances by Patric and Liotta were good but the script was not up to their talents. I am a huge music fan - I like virtually every genre. I like Genesis; I like most of Peter Gabriel's solo work; I like many of the original songs that Gabriel has done on this album (Randy Newman, David Bowie, Neil Young, Radiohead, and Talking Heads); and, I really HATE this album. It's not that I dislike it - no, I HATE IT. This album is as unlistenable as Elvis Costello's North. Dreary, overly breathy, maudlin in a bad actor way and terribly pretentious. This album should be avoided at all costs.
