I was after innovative recipes that would make me mourn the loss of dairy a little less. Some recipes do fit that bill but involve ingredients I can't see myself stocking in my pantry. Since there are no photos it's very difficult to imagine that these strange ingredients with strange names will result in anything other than something strange. The majority of the recipes in this book are just plain old recipes with logical substitutions thrown in. I don't need to buy a book to be told to try using soy or almond milk rather than cows milk. That's commonsense. You probably have better recipes in other cookbooks that you could make similar substitutions with.
