I loved the emphasis on grace and found this to be a solid book I could recommend. It is very meditative and is best read slowly, with time to think about each chapter. Some of the "heaven speaks" (what God thinks) were good, and some were a bit cheesy. I understand the author's struggle - he is trying to get his readers to internalize grace. Grace, unfortunately, is hard to instantly internalize.

This book is like taking an MDiv course on research methods. It is well done and thorough. But be warned: it is very academic. It isn't explaining specifically how Old Testament passages influence New Testament ones. It is teaching you the methods to do the research yourself. Subjects include things like, "Validation that Isaiah 22:22 is an indirect typological prophecy." This is for people that want to spend a lot of time doing very cerebral Bible study. This is a thoughtful book on "how much is enough" and gives great case studies of people choosing to downsize and be generous to others - the upshot is it made them happier people. A very good read for anyone looking to lead a more joyful and fulfilling life. Book has been provided courtesy of Graf-Martin Communications, Inc. Available now at your favourite bookseller.
