With one incredible number followed by something not so wonderful followed by something incredible, the score is incredibly uneven. Scwartz's newest score screams out, "A WORK IN PROGRESS". The harmonies are nothing short of wonderful. "No Good Deed" is a masterpiece. However, some songs are amateur: "Popular", "Wonderful" as examples. Who knows? Maybe it's brough to life on stage. But for now, it's a frisbee, if you ask me.

William Finn is an acquired taste. To just about everyone, his music is a little strange. This is byfar the most beautiful, touching and heartfelt music I've heard in a while. If you loved the Falsetto trilogy, A New Brain... Elegies is for you.

Saw it in London, it was a cute idea, BUT... It's not Broadway. It's pop music put into a cute, fluffy plot. If you like Abba, buy their cds, not this. The voices aren't spectacular. I liked the London cast better.
