This is the first of the "new" M*A*S*H packages that I have purchased. The folder is quite cheap - yet functional. The largest detraction (2 stars worth) is that there is no episode summary available - not even a piece of paper as to what episode is on each disc. While not essential for the first time round, when trying to find and episode to re-watch, this is essential. I know M*A*S*H fairly well, but I don't really want to have to memorize the episodes on each disc. To Fox: Put out summaries you cheapos!
For being a thriller, it is not very thrilling. The book has rather dark under-tones and not much redemptive value to it. Deadfall takes a bit to get into and does not improve. The climax is bitterly disappointing - though, perhaps in line with the rather dark/dull pace. If you are looking for an exciting book with adventure, then this book is not for you. The most redemptive thing for me was picking it up cheap!
The Dark Foundations is the epic sequel to the Shadow at Evening and the Power of Night. In Farholme, the former Farholme defence unit upgrades to the Farholme defence force to deal with the isolation from the rest of the Assembly. The writing is superb, absolutely shaming all other books in the genre - especially Harry Potter. There is depth to the characters, and you will be riveted by every page. You will want to finish this book - it will take priority over that essay you have to write. It is just that good.
