CNC Programming Principles and Applications by Mike Mattson
There seem to be more and more quality books coming to the market as of late. I recently received a complimetary copy of this book and was pleasantly surprised by its' accuracy, layout, and compact format. Mr. Mattson deserves credit for including very accurate programs and realistic fixturing and manufacturing processes.
This book is the best value for the CNC student's money today.
Cnc Programming Handbook: A Comprehensive and Prac&hellip by Peter Smid
I am often in need of CNC reference material because I program CNC mills and lathes and also as my role as an instructor at college. Most machine manuals are confusing or written in Jinglish. Many CNC books on the market are out-dated, inaccurate, or too simplistic. This work by Peter Smid fills the void for the intelligent reader who craves to go beyond the simplistic concepts regurgitated in so many other books.
There is insightful discussion on all major CNC programming topics, with hundreds of examples and drawings to keep the reader informed and interested.
I use only this book in my CNC mill and lathe classes, though CNC texts by Mike Lynch or Valentino and Goldenberg are… Read more

CNC Workshop illustrates dozens of factual errors in programming format, it contains some glaring omissions, and spends far too much space promoting its own flawed software. This software has crashed and frozen up in many of my students' computers and fails to accurately portray CNC motion.
This is an adequate book for very basic level CNC knowledge or for people with only elementary knowledge of the English language. It does an acceptable job of explaining some basic NC concepts and the… Read more
