I've watched it already on TV, but the effect of sitting through this series several more times is a real treat. I enjoy this film mostly because it takes me to another time and place where life is so much more gracious on the one hand, but also where women are just to be pretty decorations. I particularly enjoyed watching the changes beginning to take place where the idea of just being is starting to change and the women are looking for ways to find more meaningful ways to exist in their world. Although change is starting there is much pressure for them to just find a husband, albiet one with adequate money and status to provide them with the life to which they have become accustomed… Read more

I discovered about 10 years ago that walking was causing pain in my body and I had begun to experiment with ways of using my body to shift my weight in a more efficient manner and in ways that could eliminate stress. Although I had found ways to improve my experience, I appreciated enormously the work of Danny Dreyer in which I further learned that not only the process of shoving off from my hind foot, as in cross-country skiing, I discovered that the way I held my pelvis was the true key to the finding of an efficient process. Having been a visitor to India some years ago, I could relate to all the images, and the situations in which the players found themselves. Sounds, sensations and the colours and the constant movement the tuk-tuks and the lack of circulation of traffic brought back memories. The images of India of long ago together with the current trend of Help Line jobs from all over the planet being answered in India brought a sense the enormous changes taking place with the work for youth and the diminishment of the class system reality that was so obvious in the past. I believe that a good film takes me into another reality in a way that is believeable and entertaining....this film did so in spades… Read more
