I bought this book for my mom for her birthday, and I bought myself a copy at the same time! I loved every chapter. Ree's romance with Marlboro Man has all the makings of a classic love story. This book made me laugh, cry, and think. Trust me, you will love it! I look forward to reading it again and again. I also appreciated the inclusion of some recipes at the back of the book of dishes Ree mentioned in her story.
I just finished reading this book. I wish I borrowed it from the library instead of buying it because I can't see myself reading it over and over again. I thought the different ways the author made this version more modern were interesting, like the Beast and Lindy being in high school, her father being a sleazy druggie who offers her to the Beast, chat rooms, etc. I found that the dialogue could be quite cheesy at times, and it wasn't a very challenging novel, but I think it will hold the attention of teenage girls who maybe aren't very enthusiastic about reading.
I discovered this band after seeing the music video for their song, "Say You Don't Want It." I thought the song was incredible; I listened to it over and over again and then decided to check out the rest of their music. I bought this album a couple months ago and I listen to it constantly. The songs are very catchy and memorable. I don't think there are many bands like them around nowadays. You can definitely hear some 80's melodies mixed in with the brit pop/rock. While I love all the songs off the album, my favourites are All I Want, Chemistry, Say You Don't Want It and Got It All Wrong. I've been recommending this band to all my friends. They are just so cool!
