Tethys

The first book I read with more words than pictures was The 101 Dalmatians. I read it several times until I lost it. This was a real novel that looked like a mass-market paperback, not a flat children's book. When I first looked through it and noticed a 3-page span of text between pictures I didn't think I could finish it, but surprisingly I discovered it was entertaining. I don't know what possessed me to read it, curiosity I guess. As a child I was attracted to books that had a reputation for good quality, although I read allot of books that were not classics. Without recommendations I would miss out on good books; that is one reason why I find that Amazon is invaluable.
