this book, while absolutely articulate and compelling, is essentially Noble's memoir of goddess-conciousness. The commentary on the medical industry's stances on issues such as childbirth and gynecology were one of the highlights of the text. However, the constant referencing and hyping of the author's tarot system, The Motherpeace Tarot deck, while expectable, gets tedious, especially to those who, like I, aren't really "spoken to" by the system. Highly reccomended to those who are interested in politico-spiritual issues, especially those regarding women.

i liked this deck while i was in great need of having really gentle, non-forceful messages. After that, i realized how horribly wishy-washy and touchy-feely it is. The art isn't that good, the interpretations aren't that good, but the information on herbs is great. If only it were a bit less new-agey, i think this deck could be something great.

I am so, so infatuated with this set. I had attempted to read runes before, using a plain clay set, and had a great deal of trouble trying to acertain meanings from the lines alone. These beautiful cards work like the Tarot or Cartouche, unveiling the meanings through the symbolism and art to better understand the energies of each rune. The accompanying handbook is a gem, with background information on the Norse religion (including a great introduction to the Norse pantheon), information on each rune (symbolism, oracular meanings, and magickal workings), and some very good rituals, including one of the best circle-casting methods i've ever heard of.
