I had SO much fun making a zoo-themed cake for my friend's children using this book. The animals are adorable and very easy to put together. The author demystifies the process by breaking everything down into very basic, simple shapes and then adjusting/modifying from there. Although it helps to have sculpting/modeling tools, it's not essential -- everyday household items such as toothpicks and straws can be used to create these sweet little critters. Very highly recommend this book, not only for work with gum paste, but for clay, FIMO, etc.

Another fabulous how-to book for those who love working with gum paste. The birds are *so* adorable, simple to make and look incredible. While the author shows her creations in a colour palette of her own choosing, the sky's the limit in terms of the colour combinations one could come up with. Very, very well worth the money - an excellent addition to my decorating library and I'm so glad I bought it! :)

This book really is amazing.

The designs are broken down into two categories, Friendly and Frightening. Each category features designs of varying levels of complexity -- some you can do in a few minutes, other more elaborate designs take much longer. I'm an amateur and was able to complete the T-Rex on my eldest son in about an hour, ditto on Cyborg. Friendly Bat took me about 30 minutes on my youngest.

Worth every penny and I sure hope they come out with more books!!
