Major interests and scholarly endevours include: The American Revolution and the American Civil War, anything to do with the British Isles and Ireland, Faeries abound, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Grainne Ni Mhaille and other female pirates, highwaymen, and the Pre-Raphaelite movement. I only own cds by Tori Amos, Duncan Sheik (who is my current crush), Suzanne Vega, and Loreena McKennitt. Favorite (living) writers include Terri Windling and her wonderful series of reworked Faerie Tales, Neil Gaiman, who is gorgeous in person. Favorite artists include everyone from the Pre-Raphaelite movement and the living Brian and Wendy Froud, David Delamare, and Amy Brown. I also act in my spare time, and watch The Sopranos and Sex and the City. For the record, Suffern, NY is not a rural hole, but a bustling suburb on NYC, of which I am a rabid, arrogant resident of. There are only two places to live in the world: NY or England.
