Idaho Winter is, without a doubt, the most disjointed, convoluted book I have ever had the displeasure of reading. The story doesn't flow in any way, and after having read it, I still have no idea what the premise is. DO NOT waste your money. ANY other book would be a better choice than this drivel.

This is an exceptionally good, true story, filled with adventures from start to finish. A wonderful family story, and an excellent read. Very well written, with humor, interspersed with exciting experiences.

This book provides a rare insight into what life on the DEW line was really like. It focuses primarily on the early years, with stories from the men and women that worked there. Their day to day lives, and the experience of living in the arctic are both described in detail, with many humorous anecdotes. Anyone who worked on the DEW line, or knows someone who did, will enjoy this book. It was a very interesting chapter in Canadian history.
