This was a great ending to a great series. Like the first two books in the series it combined fantasy, sci fi, new age and reality perfectly. It was not a disappointing ending at all and I was hooked from beginning to ending. It was both well written and very interesting and had many characters and even creatures I could relate to. I'd say Hazel, Nathan, Eric and Bartlemy were the characters I could relate to the most. However if you haven't read the first two books in the series you may have a hard time following the story.

Could have been so much better, Oct 13 2007

I am a huge fan of the book [even though it isn't the greatest thing I've read] and I really was looking forward to the movie. I thought that it would never happen and when it finally did I was so disappointed.

Good things: The special effects for Saphria were great! She looked so real and very amazing! Almost the entire cast was well chosen although I think the guy who did Eragon was just ok. But Brom was portrayed very well!

One of the first [ and best] Tolkien art books I've read., Oct 10 2007

Those who are fans of J.R.R.Tolkien and Middle Earth will know that the world Tolkein created is very descriptive but still leaves lots of room for imagination and creativity. This book celebrates that by displaying the artistic works of 16 artists who have show how they imagine Middle Earth through art.

Some of the greatest artists are John Howe, Alan Lee, Ted Nasmith [the one who did the amazing cover art] and Inger Edelfeldt. Their paintings are the best in the book and the most breathtaking.
