Thbis is THE best Gaiman novel, ever. Published in 1969, it show his developing talents as a writer and provides hints as to the themes and motifs that reoccur in his novels. One clue: Fnord.
No, not sinbad. I remember it from TV watching days and liked what I saw of it (tho the CGI effects and the like haven't aged well). The DVD release is, on the other hand, crap. In order of problems noted: No chapters. Just each entire episode as a chapter. The biggest, though, is the quality is sub-par. it's very grainy and looks like it was a rip from a TV screen or something. Waiting until a later release (one with any kind of extra at all kthx) might be worth your while.
C'mon, that says it all, man. He dies! That alone is worth this movie. (In fact, I never watched past his death, but I figured it deserved 5 stars for that alone. More movies should do this.)
