Jack Reacher DVD ~ Tom Cruise
Jack Reacher DVD ~ Tom Cruise
The first time I saw a ad for this movie I was definitely interested... then I found out 'little Tom' was going to play Reacher. What a JOKE.

Not that Cruise is a bad actor, and not that he doesn't do action well -- he is, and he does -- but the whole ethic of Lee Child's Reacher demands at least moderately good casting and not this farce with 'Tom Thumb'

What did I think of the movie? Maybe a 2 stars but no more. The whole time was I was wishing the real Reacher would come in and kick the pretend one's butt.

Gotta tell it like it is, folks.

2.0 out of 5 stars Starting to lose it, Mar 11 2012
While I enjoyed the first two books in this series, I have to say that this one DISAPPOINTED. There was none of the anticipation building as in the first two, nor was there anything new. Hamilton may come back with a good story, but my hopes are not high after reading this one.

AND, is this bugging anyone else: ...yet another STARBUCKS VIA instant coffee... how much does this guy get paid to write that cr*p? The only one who has done it worse recently is Larrson and his Dragon Tattoo APPLE fetish. Get over it boys -- it shows lack of effort (oh, and I know Stieg Larsson is dead).

I have long considered myself well-informed about the mess that is today's Zimbabwe, I now admit to being surprised at how much worse the situation really is. The author writes about events he witnesses along with those from the people who experienced them. That Robert Mugabe clings to power is likely less about his own ability to control his government and more about the 'less-than-human' he has surrounded himself with.

Read this book to understand what has happened to what was a rich, cultured and effective country. How it could all go so wrong will shock and anger -- despite the horrors described, there remains a strong message of hope in the people that is well covered by the… Read more
