This is a must for anyone who liked Saturday Night Wrist. This is Deftones at the peak of their game. Diamond Eyes delivers such a plethora of raw emotion and mood, with enough polished details that it gets better with time. In my opinion Deftones is one of the few bands left that can actually come up with strikingly original and powerful material. Anyone who has an appreciation for Chino Moreno's vocals need not be reminded what a resonance and depth of effect his vocal cords can produce. Once again, they have surpassed themselves.
Radiohead are like the Beatles of the 21st century. Because of their experimental style, you find in these albums effects, vocals, contrasts, compositions, and symphonic arrangements that simply cannot be substituted. If you are interested in music - if you have an ear for it, then what your fundamentally dealing with is sounds and songs meant to be enjoyed. Thom Yorke has an ethereal voice that can make a church organ seem limited. The instrumental work - in the greater songs - blends as immaculately as a Master painter mixing pigments. A Treasury. I can't say that every track is great - but no music artist can say they have made only masterpieces.
The Collegiate Dictionary that this compact version is based upon is more inclusive and professional - that much is known. The benefits of this edition are many: the portability, the great price, and it is still very comprehensive and nearly 1000 pages. It is a great volume to have in any office and within easy reach. Many students today casually use a plethora of important words of which they could not provide a proper definition if simply asked. Another token to consider for a second is that many words we think we know clearly in terms of definition would be only reinforced and made more sound if we simply looked over the definition provided by Merriam-Webster's.
