Edward Wozny is as boring a main character that one could find in an "International bestseller." He fails to meet the expectations of a treasure hunter in search of a Codex that essentially could change the hierarchy of England's royal family. The character of Edward, although physically overly descriptive and repetitive throughout the novel, has emotional faults that are not discussed or explained by Lev Grossman. This novel lacks substance and I found it very easy to put down and ignore. The wonderment of actually finding the Codex seems as if it is a secondary accomplishment that lacks incredulity.
