In My Own Words:
I'm interested in just about everything and am a life-long learner. I love to take what I've learned in books and try it out in the real world which makes for some really interesting experiences and careers!!! I try to live outside the box as much as I can--even if it scares me--and I like to exercise both sides of my brain :) I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up and I wonder… Read moreI'm interested in just about everything and am a life-long learner. I love to take what I've learned in books and try it out in the real world which makes for some really interesting experiences and careers!!! I try to live outside the box as much as I can--even if it scares me--and I like to exercise both sides of my brain :) I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up and I wonder if I'll ever have enough time to fit in everything that I'd like to try. Recently I've started writing a children's book. It's so liberating to let the kid in me OUT and to just let that creativity have the reins!!! ha ha (hope it doesn't steer us into a ditch!) In the first two minutes flipping through this book I got the perfect answer to how to warm my honey up slowly without using too much heat (how to build a warming box). This book is a must have for the weaver's library. After learning to warp a loom I found I needed help finding ways to creatively use my yarn stash. I wanted to make fabrics with exceptional, unique and interesting colour combinations. I needed help to get started. This book is the inspiration I needed. It's beautifully laid out with colour photos from beginning to end. The book starts by showing you how to create your own palette and collection of inspirational items (mood board) to aid you in your planning, taking colour, construction, texture and finishing into consideration. The Colour and Stripe chapter has many pages showing samples of yarns put together in… Read more

Garnethill, Exile and Resolution are the three books in this series and Garnethill is the author's debut novel. The main character is Maureen, a gal that smokes and drinks way too much, has spent a bit of time in a psych ward and who mixes and mingles with the salt of the earth quite comfortably. She also can't help but delve into things that don't seem right until she finds out what's going on. Maureen as a unique, tough but compassionate person. The author's descriptions of the street life and suffering of the down-and-out in Scotland was very realistic. As the story builds we wonder if Maureen can rise above her mental difficulties and bad family… Read more
