These guys are really something. I actually came across them by accident. I was going to see an opeth concert in toronto and these guys were co-headlining. So opeth plays first and it was good and then theres these guys. I had never heard of them but i paid good money for my ticket so i figured i'd stick around and see whats what. Wow! The next day i went out and bought In Absentia. This is one moody album. At times upbeat but more often acopolyptic in a despairing kind of way. this is the best CD i own and i own a lot from a lot of styles. Yet, year after year, I keep coming back to this. I've been listening to a lot of opeth lately and i thought, you know what would sound good coming down from that chaos...whiskey for the holy ghost. This record is solid from start to finish. Lanegan doesnt tease with one good track and the rest are junk. If more artists would actually deliver quality product from start to finish, kazaa wouldnt be what it is today.
