well we had prety much given up hope of ever seeing a decent version of this classic Dracula adventure when Warner anounced it's release in an unbutchered state.the image is flawless , the sound is good if not expansive but the real treat is that the 4 minutes missing from every print released so far has this time been included. The bordelo scene is now free of the savage editing done by warner in the early 70's to be able to market it to the kiddies. The other additions are very short scenes juged to violent at the time. The result is a film that flows better & has a stronger story & that's it rates a 5 on my scale. review of the DVD edition

Truly this a classic of both science-fiction as well as horror. Of course the horror is not the traditional bloodletting but rather psychological. It reads like a hitler youths takeover of a typical english village "while everybody is asleep".these fatherless children all sport blond hair & blue eyes and definite ideas about how things should run in the now quaranteed village. They also seem to exhibit no distinct personnalities but more of a "group mind"(hence the fachism analogy)that has no problem crushing all dissidents , even their own parents. On the technical side I have to again commend Warner for including it's sequel (children of the damned)on the disc ,… Read more

Louis De Funes the all time master of physical comedy in his best & most hillarious film ever ! Pulling no punches the movie exposes racism of all kind that of the french of course but also the ever actual middle-eastern brand of bigotry. It's brillance resides in it's evenhandedness in denouncing racism as a sign of intellectual weakness.Plus the gags are fast & furious throughout the very entertaining 90 minutes of pleasure ! highly recommended !
