Nosound - AFTERTHOUGHTS DVD-Audio/CD set, May 7 2013

Well, I've played this through a couple of times since it arrived this morning. I was lucky enough to be one of the first batch of pre-orders to get the CD/DVD-A and bonus instrumental CD.

I plan on doing a more in-depth review over on my blog in the next few days but I will detail my initial findings. From a compositional perspective, this is a thoughtful album. It's mellow, ethereal and melancholy. When things pick up, tempo wise, later in the album, it's quite noticeable because the rest of the album is far more subdued. Super album in a super execution. Would there be reissue of catalog in same quality?, July 11 2011

Very nice reissue of the famous album. Best of all, it's an Universal DVD-Audio which can be used on
all modern DVD, Home Theater, Blue Ray, automotive DVD system, PC or Mac computers.
This 2 disc set beat all expectation. Perfectly done Hi-Res Surround Sound 96KHz/24bit have retained
all harmonics and liveness of original Studio Master Tape and deliver to listener incredible detailed
picture of the sound with many small details, previously buried in plain stereo but at same time retaining
origin of the album as we have heard it before, since 1980.
Just one cons. instead of Dolby Digital 5.1 of audio stream in video directory they should use more

Good release but bad industry approach, July 11 2011

Beautiful voice and performance, astonishing sound quality from SACD layer.
Bad that it wasn't issued as an Universal DVD-Audio which can retain more different formats,
including audiophile Hi-Res at 96/24 and could be accessible for more potential listeners due
to the fact that an every average household already has DVD, Home Theater or Blue Ray system
and the vehicle, with on-board factory supplied DVD system.
