5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect follow-up, April 23 2014
Like "Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven" before it, "Express" continues in the same vein and expands on it. That's to say that some of the songs are a bit punchier. This remastered version includes extra songs as well. The only ones that I don't listen to are "B-side no.1 and B-side no.2" which are really just short instrumental selections (a little over a minute each). The rest of the songs though are sublime. Again the sound quality is excellent. For me, one of the best recordings of the 80s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect debut, April 23 2014
Released in 1985, "Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven" is the perfect soundtrack to the mid eighties. This is the remastered version from 2000 that includes 6 extra tracks and mixes which only enhance the recording. Opener "If There's a Heaven Above" begins with the line " Throw the world off your shoulders tonight Mr. Smith". Listening to those lyrics, you feel that for 40 minutes or so, you're leaving your troubles behind. All the other songs are exceptional as well, everyone seems to have a favourite. Also, I want to mention the sound quality, the remastering was done beautifully, It's a shame that beautiful music like this is trarely made these days.

I'm not quite sure how she does it, but Annie Clark has just delivered yet another masterpiece. Two of her previous CDs would have to be in my top ten of all time ("Strange Mercy" and her collaboration with David Byrne "Love This Giant"). This one is just as amazing. "Digital Witness" is certainly an extension of the sounds of "Love This Giant", lyrically it seems to relate how people interact with each other in this digital age. On "Prince Johnny", her voice is sublime. The quality is faultless throughout. She's certainly a true artist that continually evolves. On track to become my favourite recording this year.
