This is a great book. You don't need a teacher to help you along since the grammar aids and vocabulary lists help you along. 20 selections from Homer to the New Testament enhance your knowledge of Greek. There are intros to each selection putting the text into historical context, and there is some discussion about the different poetic meters of Homeric and the dramas. The first text I translated was from Plutarch about the death of Cleopatra VII. It was fun reading, and also hard since many of the words in it I had not encountered before, so the vocab list on the opposite page was used 100%.
