I just received this book and tried only one recipe from it. Although the recipe called for fresh ingredients (a plus for me) and the picture of the dish looked appetizing, the result was pretty bland and rather disappointing. I spiked it up by adding additional spices after the fact and some hot sauce, so it became edible, but I wasn't greatly impressed. I am worried about trying other recipes and ending up with similar results... I have to confess though that I have not yet found any good recipes for the slow cooker and I am beginning to suspect that this method of cooking--though convenient and time-saving--may not be for me.
