Instead, read Heat, or The Weather Makers, or Field Notes from a Catastrophe, or The Revenge of Gaia, or even (if you can find it) Life, Money and Illusion by Mike Nickerson.
H.D. writes extensively about himself, his travels and his research. Ho hum. His thesis (catagenesis) is contained in his last chapter (pages 298-308). Read it in a bookstore -- you'll see how feeble it is. I'd throw my copy away but I am afraid that someone might find it and try to read it.
