5.0 out of 5 stars Takes a person back!, Dec 30 2012
I grew up west of Swift Current and followed the Broncos somewhat in the Booster and listened to the games on the radio. I kept a scrapbook with clippings about them. I was only 12 years old when this tragedy occurred. I can remember exactly what I was doing when I found out about the accident and even though I live nowhere near Swift Current today, I still consider it to be home. I usually think about the bus crash at this time I year, whether I'm nervous about winter driving or just thinking back to that winter break from school spent with my cousins. On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves
If you read just one novel at the beach this summer, make sure this book is your first choice! The writing flows seamlessly, the story draws the reader in from the first page! I can't believe amazon.ca says I am the first person to write a review on this book! Come on Canada!!! Once you read 'On the Island', you will surely want to read more from this overnight sensation of an author who actually had a difficult time getting this published and finally went the self publishing route! And you will be pleasantly surprised that the producers of the Twilight movies are going to make a movie based on this book! Please, please pick up this book! I can not stress enough how happy you will be!

I am so disappointed I missed the book launch for this fantastic book. I am a huge fan of local writers and being from Estevan, this book was very easy to picture in my mind. I would recommend it to any hockey fan, male or female, young or old. I am hoping there will be more to come along this storyline. I'm looking forward to any other book written by Maureen Ulrich. This story would be a great read for anyone who has dealt with bullying of any sort, pick up a copy for your kids. It truly is great!
