The Friends of Meager Fortune by David Adams Richards
The Friends of Meager Fortune by David Adams Richards
5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Book, Aug. 6 2013
David Adams Richards has done it again, reminding me why he is at the top of my contemporary author favourites list. As one of the earlier reviewers stated, even the horses pulling the sleds are fully developed characters. I found the details of the lumbering industry riveting and had no problem reading the descriptive passages. I for one am glad he included the details, as they drew me into the scenes and helped me understand what these men went through. Given the series of tragic misunderstandings and false speculations one after the other, I figured there was no way DAR could end this book on a satisfying note; however, at the last sentence, I said out loud, "Wow"! Energy Tapping: How to Rapidly Eliminate Anxiety, &hellip by Fred Gallo
5.0 out of 5 stars WORTH THE MONEY, Nov. 11 2012
I was trying to learn tapping therapy by watching videos online, but I needed the information in one place. The videos are helpful, but not enough for me. I was getting bits and pieces in many places. This book is a comprehensive explanation, easily understandable, and it gives me something solid to work with. I don't know how it compares with other books on the subject. There are quite a few. I'm more than happy with my choice.
The Complete Handbook Of Novel Writing: Everything&hellip by Editors of Writer's Digest Books
5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A KEEPER, Nov. 11 2012
THE COMPLETE HANDBOOK OF NOVEL WRITING is a collection of 77 articles and talks with writers. I saw a copy a friend of mine had, borrowed it, and decided I wanted my own.I impulsively bought two and gave one as a gift. I'm involved with the NanoWrimo 50,000-word challenge (look it up online), and this book has helped me keep going past the bumpy parts. There are so many topics about fiction writing here, that I can't imagine what another one would be. It's a reference book by fiction writers for aspiring fiction writers. The wide range of experiences and ideas from professional writers sets it apart from most other books on the craft. Yes, I recommend it!
