Here is a quick list of places I have worked (In no particular order) and things I have done to give some perspective on my point of view.
- Apple Computer - Radius - Digital Origin - Century 21 Real Estate - Discreet (Subsidiary of AutoDesk Inc.) - Superior Investigative Services - Baystar Medical Services/American Medical Response - Network Alliance Real Estate
Other tidbits and interests: - Formerly certified Emergency Medical Technician - SCUBA Diving - Furniture making - Feel free to ask me about applying to medical school. I got all the way to acceptance before deciding on another path.
I love history with a special focus on Military, Espionage, US History and Special Operations. When in college, I was in the Aviation Reserve Officer Candidate Program for the United States Navy. The program was canceled during my senior year. My goal was to fly fighter jets.
I lean conservative politically but have no use for the personal attacks or irrational intellectual genuflection we so often see from both sides of the isle. Just gimme' the facts ma'am! I pride myself on reading works from both ends of the spectrum, but judge these works on their sources and the verifiability of their conclusions. I am often disappointed.
My high tech experience was mostly in QA (software testing). I did some management and was the point man for some long term projects that were an amazing education on how products go from concept to shipping product. This becomes even more interesting when dealing with team members based everywhere from Montreal, San Francisco and Scotland.
Love computer games, just about all types. I can build any system from the ground up. I keep both a Mac and a Windows system on my desk.
I develop software for use by other Real Estate Agents and Brokers and also for collectors of various niche items.
I also produce a weekly podcast called "Real Estate Realities with the Rebel Broker", in which I try to educate folks on the real estate business and point the spotlight on some of the things wrong - and even right - with the real estate business. You can find my podcast at my website (www.soldbyrobert.com) or on iTunes where searching for "Robert Whitelaw" should bring up the show.

Confession time. I expected this book to really put me to sleep. So why did I buy it? Well.... the recent release of the movie "Troy" peaked my interest in the classical world, so here I am. But surprise, I found myself captivated with this discussion of the Greek world. If you have any interest in the classical world, this would be a great place to start. Now I know a little something about boring history books. I majored in history and even taught it at the high school level for a short time. Trust me, I have shelves full of stinky, boring required reading from my college days and from later attempts to look deaper into specific historical topics. This was a breath of fresh… Read more

Sadly, this movie was not a box office smash. And that, my friends, I just cannot figure out. This movie is outstanding. Pure and simple. Its one of the few in my collection that I can go back to time and again and really enjoy watching. The acting is excellent, the editing flows very well and the cinematography is great. Then there is the story and concept. Take comics and strip away the leotards, capes and unbelievable super powers and you end up with people who are amazing for believeable "powers". This concept is put into great contrast with the two main characters. The only downside is that I think most folks will have the ending pegged before it comes around. But it… Read more

Ok... I really like this movie. But in honesty there can be a little too much lag between the really funny parts. There are some great snapshot moments that will stick with you and make you laugh. Sometimes around the house I can hear my wife or one of my boys say "Wanna buy a monkey?".... aaahhh... I love that. And Lord help me, there is just something unbelievably funny about a floppy dancing Chris Elliott being pelted on the head by beer cans. Comic genius? Hardly - but damn if it does not crack me up every time I think about it.
