This text is written for people who want to begin thinking about how we know "stuff" with any level of assurance. Meek sets the stage by exploring the big questions and lays out an very comprehensible epistemology based on her vast knowledge of Michael Polanyi (if you don't know Polanyi, don't worry). I rated this 5-stars because she accomplishes all that she sets out to do in concise clear language. She also introduces the reader to the idea of a biblical epistemology (how we can talk biblically about knowing reality and God). Mann gives holism as one of her intents in this cd and I believe she does this well. The songs flow with thematic bridging and lyrics, e.g. psychosis. I thought her lyrics are up to par and carried deeper meaning that the listener wishes we could get at. I wish she would write biography into her cd package. Her songwriting is slightly more "pop" and predictable in this cd, but she has worked more on layering sound and it has paid off. The songs move from the lone voice & guitar into symphonic layering of effect, voice and instrument for an intense mix. I think it works well on most of the songs. Having deployed to Colombia 9 times in counter-narcotics operations, I found Bowden's text extremely enlightening. His sources were very high-up and incredibly generous with their information. I found no point where Bowden's information and analysis contradicted my experience in Colombia. I learned more about our operations in Colombia from Bowden than I did from reading the daily CIA/DEA situation reports. I found Bowden's writing style to be well paced and properly revealing. I enjoyed following the story he allowed to unfold. If you think that Bowden is giving away Operational secrets, it's probably not as dire as one would think. There was very little that we did that the… Read more
