The Edge of His Cloak morphed from a series of emails and questions into this book, but through the changes, it kept the authenticity, the frankness and the humanity of a husband, father, son, friend, mechanic wrestling with what he reads in the Bible and what he sees in his life. What I love about Abell's book is that he doesn't try to deny the messiness of life, he doesn't attempt to strengthen his argument that God still heals and works miraculously by conveniently leaving out the times when God chose not to act. I've read this book twice and plan to read it again soon -- hopefully by the time I'm done Abell will have written another book.
