This is my favorite coffee maker. It's not perfect, but it's red. Red is good. In fact I bought two in case they stop making them and I need another one. I had my first meltdown where I failed to put the carafe correctly under the drip mechanism and the coffee overflowed out of the filter holder. Cleaned up in a snap. No problems. I had another one of these for years and had many senior moment meltdowns with it, and it withstood years of abuse and misuse. It has a great track record with me. I've used the Cuisinart with thermos carafe (no hot plate) and found it had several irritating faults including an impossible to remove lid on the carafe.
