This book was interesting, but really could have been so much more. The majority of the book is the letters that JR wrote to Vivian when he was overseas. They are basically all about love and being heart sick. The second part of the book, which was only a few pages was the really interesting end of it. Being able to see the side of the story from the woman who was left behind, and who didn't absorb the fame was a nice read. I noticed something in the beginning of part two that bugs me. She describes herself as having hazel eyes, and then says Johnny loved her blue eyes. It is possible he thought they were considering they only knew each other for three weeks before he took off.

PRO- As a homsechooling family we purchased some of the books in this series to help us with our schooling. The children have liked majority of the activities and in my research I have found it does follow the Canadian curriculum to the letter. It is nice to have a book that is Canadian based worksheets since most are U.S based.
CON - While I do like these books I do have to point out one major issue I have with this company. They really need to make the pages tear outs. I have two children nearly the same age, and they are both doing some of the same activites. I would obviously need to make a photo copy for them to do these sheets and the pages don't nicely tear out… Read more
