Kurt Vonnegut: Letters by Kurt Vonnegut
Kurt Vonnegut: Letters by Kurt Vonnegut
5.0 out of 5 stars A journey...., Nov. 27 2012
I read this collection over a period of about ten days, often taking Kurt to bed with me to read me to sleep. This is a book for those familiar with Vonnegut's work, those who cherish it, appreciate it, etc. It is a gift. There is a certain voyeurism, I suppose, to reading these letters, but I read them guilt free. And I enjoyed the journey from young PFC to angry old man, but always gentle, always caring, always human; it gave me something to aspire to.

You can smell the horse on this one from a mile away, and it's an unclean horse, sweaty from a day running free and hard over fields it knows well. This Land is Your Land doesn't hold up to repeated listening because it is the one song that is plaid straight, not dirty; but then on an album called Americana, how else could the song be played? Oh, and Neil captures something special with his rendition of Wayfaring Stranger.
Here Comes The New Folk Underg ~ David Baerwald
Not a bad adult pop album but a shadow of the masterpiece that was Boomtown. One wonders if the collaboration is what made Boomtown so great or if there is a secret album waiting to be unleashed by David Ricketts that's going to make my balls contract in a most pleasurable manner.
