Decoration Day ~ Drive By Truckers
Decoration Day ~ Drive By Truckers
There have not been many great records of late that one could say are "roll down the windows and sing along at the top of your lungs". This one cetainly qualifies.

Many people cite Lynyrd Skynyrd or the Allman Bros., but what I hear is Steve Earle joining up with the Replacements. These guys don't shoot for the majesty of FREE BIRD, instead they create a grungy Southern-Fried Riff rock that draws as much from punk as classic rock. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris
You have got to love a book that makes you laugh out load uncontrolably while reading it. Sedaris has a true gift. But then I might be biased, since I've had my floors done by his brother(The Rooster). By the way he was a perfect gentleman and did an outstanding job! I highly recomend the book and the flooring business.

This is a remarkably consistant album considering it's origins.

All tracks are of excellent quality with the rocking COMA GIRL, GET DOWN MOSES and ARMS ALOFT leading the way. STREETS ARE BURNING successfully revisits an earlier Clash anthem and MIDNIGHT JAM is an revelation, that perhaps could have pointed a way towards future recording. Covers of Marley's… Read more
