This was definitely a good book, although by no means spectacular. From the beginning, Melayne and Sarrow (the main characters) spend all their time hiding from seekers. The seekers find 'talented' youngsters and train them to fight in a senseless war. The book has many underlying messages and the lessons learned about discrimination and prejudice can easily be applied to our own world. I felt, however, that many of the events happened too quickly, and that the book left a great many loose ends. This book is probably best for ages 11-13, although older readers wanting just a simple, yet good story will also appreciate the book.
