Poor transfer, Jan 26 2012

I love this movie! But why 2 stars? This transfer is one of the worst I've seen. I have the DVD and the difference is not worth the purchase of this blu ray version. There is an unnatural level of grain and loss of detail in the blacks that is not the same in the DVD. This one needs to be remastered, for sure.

Fast, quiet and reliable, Jan 26 2012

I bought this drive as a cheap improvement to my PS3 (was a TOSHIBA 160GB SATA 5400) and it's great so far! The PS3 backup process took an entire day, literally 10+ hours, but the installation was a snap and the drive works like a charm. Though it's a 5400, it's still a snappy drive and loading times differ from a 7200 by mere seconds per application. It runs so quietly in my system that the silence in some movies is as deafening as it should be :)

Now to play all those games I couldn't fit on my old drive! :D

I spent a lot of time looking on eBay, Amazon, and several specialty and retail stores for a solid enclosure that was well ventilated, low profile and "a little nicer". Most 2.5" SATA-USB enclosures look the same: aluminum flask-shaped body, plastic bumpers on front and back, one LED for status, no ventilation and cheap-looking overall. This enclosure stood out to me so I took a shot.

I'm so glad that I did! Not only is the drive well ventilated with a cheese grater grill covering the top and bottom, it is incredibly slim without cramping the drive.
