2.0 out of 5 stars Boring & Hard To Read, Nov 17 2010
I felt like I had to give this one an honest try, but after struggling through a few chapters, I had to put it down. The style of writing was awful. The story is uninteresting and the characters are not sympathetic. I honestly didn't care what happened. The only good thing to say was that I borrowed it from a library, so I didn't have to waste any of my money on it otherwise I would have been even more furious.

My advice: Get it from the library. Then the only thing you'll be wasting is your time, and that is only if you can bear to read through the tedious and trite stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good solid information, April 19 2010
This was an excellent textbook for the Early Childhood Education program. The textbook clearly explained the different issues in a way that was clear and concise. Not only did this book compliment the course material, but it will serve as an excellent reference tool for anyone working in childcare. There are easy to use tables listing common illnesses, sample forms for all different situations, and check-lists.

This is one of the few text books that will continue to be used after the course is over.
Bella Sara (Nintendo DS)
This DS game is probably most appropriate for young girls, ages 5 and up. There is a fair amount of reading, so if your child doesn't know how to read, you'll have to sit with them while they play for a while. But, they will quickly learn what they need to do and will be able to play on their own without help, even if they can't read. The game involves riding horses over a course, collecting "horseshoes" and horse cards. The cards in the game are just like the ones you can buy in real life, so it is even more fun if they have a small horse card collection.

My daughter got this game for Christmas and now, two months later, she is still playing it quite often.
