Lark Rise to Candleford: The Complete Collection DVD ~ Linda Bassett
4.0 out of 5 stars A good series, Jan. 3 2014
I purchased the entire 4 seasons in this boxed set and watched them all within 2 weeks. I did enjoy them, however there are definite issues that I did not like. Firstly for anyone wanting to know about the box itself, it is fine what you see in the picture is what you get. The four seasons are each in their own DVD cases, however, so if you already own the DVDs I don't see the need for this boxed set. Now with regard to content, I had never seen an episode before I purchased this and maybe seeing them one after the next instead of having yearly intervals has made a difference for me. I can't say it gives closure, since Cranford was pretty perfect as is and you don't need this sequel to add anything to the Cranford experience. However, it is a good watch if one has seen Cranford and… Read more
Star Trek Volume 4 by Mike Johnson
Star Trek Volume 4 by Mike Johnson
I have been reading this newish series of Star Trek comics and find them to be very interesting. The art is based on the reboot look of the actors/actresses in the current films while the plots are the original series ones, albeit with a twist here and there to accommodate the new timeline business. Seeing as I vaguely remember the original episodes, I find the comics entertaining and 'new'. This particular one, (Volume 4) does a backstory on some secondary characters that's fun. I recommend them if you're a fan of the modern cinematic reboot and familiar storylines.
