This is a band definitely going places. While they have been around for a few years and have had 3 previous CDs, ELVA begins a new evolutionary leap for this Southern Californian Band. Combining their own mixture of pure rock energy, punk rock styling, heart and soul and originality they manage to craft excellent album after another with this being no exception. Some old school punk fans of the band might be a bit disillusioned by the varied nature of ELVA. It goes from hard punk rock to soft slow melodies from one track to another. I have just finished "Tigana" & feel a deep sense of loss. I can't bring myself to read anything else at present. The book developes complex characters & explores their struggles in a world where good & evil are intermingled in ways which don't allow for simplistic judgements.
