I was really looking forward to this book because it had been recommended so highly and because I usually love vampire books with an interesting female protagonist.
Unfortunately, I had to put the book down after reading just 1/3rd of it because things were really dragging. I love dialogue but it seemed like for every two or three lines of dialogue there was two or three pages of internal monologue.
Internal monologue just didn't do it for me.

Despite the somewhat dated portrayal of women, Son of Interflux is really more about the protagonist's battle of wills against the local corporation. As a girl I enjoyed this book and thought it was an entertaining compliment to Korman's other books of the same period: The MacDonald Hall series.
As an adult it certainly reminded me that my cynical view of corporations could be tempered with a little humour now and then.

I habitually read fantasy novels, however this completely down to earth story was one of the most entertaining and fulfilling reads of my year.
