I'm not going to talk about how great the film is - in short, it's one of my all-time favourite movies; movie - 5/5. I'm going to instead talk about Studio Canal's blu ray transfer quality. The video I must say is quite good - significantly sharper than Criterion's DVD release, by nature of it being a blu ray. Faces look much sharper and easier to make out, and detail is seen quite thoroughly in closeups. A good remake, but not a great one. I have the original Ninja Gaiden 2 for XBox 360, and being impressive as that game is, I don't find the Sigma version (this Playstation 3 version I'm reviewing now) to be any better. Sure, the graphics for Sigma 2 are more impressive, especially Ryu's (the good-guy) character model in the game being more detailed. There is slightly more detail and colour in almost every character model and backdrop in the game. Additionally, they add an extra melee weapon to the already impressive weapon roster - a huge sword which annihilates everything. The three extra levels are a treat - each level featuring one of three different female playable characters - but… Read more
