If Shaw is the name that tempted you to look at this set you likely have a high expectation. I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Should you desire to purchase the six CD's you will get all and more for your money. What surprised us were the excellent bonus plays and an extensive look into the author, George Bernard Shaw. This superb BBC production is absolutely delightful. There are a very few negligible imperfections with the sound reproduction of this digitally remastered version from its 1980' originals. It is absolutely worth the investment if you like classic British entertainment.
Not to bad for a light entertainment with the British sense of Humor. Comparing it to `Keeping Up Appearances' is pushing the envelope a little. The overall performance is not too bad but lacks the spark of similar British endeavours. The prize is right and for it well worth to own.
Can a Shakespearian play be made into a movie? They surely did and an splendid job they mad of itl. If you possess `Shakespeare in Love' you would appreciate this film as a logic sequence as one feeds right into the other. Well worth the money, all the more when compared with the other much inferior versions with the same title. If in doubt - get it anyway it is will not be a disappointment.
