Thickskin ~ Skid Row
Thickskin ~ Skid Row
5.0 out of 5 stars No need for Bach, April 28 2004
Although Bach has the killer screeching vocals that are trademarks of earlier SKid Row albums, Thickskin proves that the song writing is the most important factor. Bolan seems to be the heart of SKid Row and has always been. This new album is truly great and the rocking guttairs and lyrical melodies make it a must in any hard rocking fans collection. The new singers voice isnt as "pithcy" as Bach's but it need not be these days. Great album and it grows on you with every listen.
Dark Kingdoms by Richard Lee Byers

I picked up this book because I always hunger for more material dealing with the surreal, real and fantastic. This book had them all with a great story and decently developed characters.
There are a few problems that made my reading journey not as enjoyable as it could be. The first, Byers introduces many ideas, characters and names without fully explaining the origin or meaning behind them? At first, I thought this book was a total hodge podge and getting into it was hard. After the first book (there are three), I was able to understand almost everyting and I was engaged. I think some sort of prelude may have helped, for my girlfriend and best friend felt the same way.

OK OK OK, so I love cheesy, bloody, goofy horror movies like Evil Dead, Basket Case, Dead Alive, etc. This movie, however, is just BAD. I could not bear to watch this. My friend and I popped this in after watching for the 29th time, Dead Alive. After about 20 minutes we watched it in 2X mode, then after a minute of this, 8X mode.....and then finally 30X......we could barely get to the end. Sure the end scene is a laugh and a half, but its not worth the garbage in between. This looks like a parody of Pet Semetary I did in High school.....horrible!
Stay away and watch Evil Dead again. I have to rate this as one of the 5 worst movies ever made, and I saw Sweet Home Alabama!
