I'm almost too out of breath to even type, but I just finished doing this DVD for the first time and phew, it's a workout! I don't watch The Biggest Loser and don't know much about Jillian Michaels but I'm always looking for new workouts so I thought I'd try this one. It's not an easy ride, but as Jillian reminds you during the workout, results don't come for free. I found her commentary to be very motivational. After skipping a few moves because I figured they'd be too hard for me (at my diminished fitness level), she looked into the camera and said something along the lines of 'you can do this - you have no idea the potential that lies within you.' So I got up (I was literally on… Read more
As others have noted, I was surprised at the tone of this book. It is quite the departure from his TV personality (although on WNTW, he can definitely be rude and mean, I always felt like the true him was nice and approachable). Regardless though, there is a lot going on in this book. I feel like it would have been a much better read if he had focused on one point but it all feels a bit disjointed when you're reading how to match an outfit and the next page is talking about how to make the perfect roasted chicken. Sometimes I think Clinton must write his books so that him and his friends can sit and laugh as the money rolls in. This book is funny at times, biting at every turn and completely useless if you're looking for any sort of advice on fashion. In this book each page is dedicated to a fashion crime but very little space is given to what you should do about it. This could be because the solutions are so obvious - case in point, his page on wet ponytails. Well yes, of course that is a no-no but I don't think those people are reading this book so why not try to give some real tips on real issues to those who are looking for a little advice? Not very funny and not helpful at all.
