4.0 out of 5 stars Classic and unusual, Jan. 11 2012
Ghillie Basan wrote a brief but approachable book to explore Moroccan cuisine. I found the Lamb and Chestnut recipe very different than expected. The kitchen smelled like cinnamon for hours, certainly not hard to enjoy. The dish turned out a bit sweet for my tastes but interesting nevertheless. Looking forward to trying more from this book!

Ghillie Basan has an approachable style to presenting a variety of cuisines. This book is particularly useful as she doesn't limit herself to grand celebration cuisine. This is an exploration of comfort food in Morocco. I've probably made the Bus Station Meatballs a few dozen times! There are tagine recipes but much more. Tagine isn't the only style of cooking in Morocco.

This is the second time I bought this book due to an unreturned loan. I will not make that mistake again!
