It's been a long decade since the last Patlabor movie, but the wait was worth it. While Production IG's latests works are more theatrical and original, this film is strictly for fans. WXIII is a new twist on an old trick. WXIII (or Wasted 13) starts out with a new detective called Hata working for public security. Hata teams up with the lovable old Kusumi from the last film to take on a an investigation involving the murder of several people who were piloting Labors. As with the last film, the main characters of the TV series, Division 2, gets pushed aside for most of the film. However, Goto does show up often to make some funny jokes. Okay, many have said that this volume is less funny than the previous volumes, but after watching these episodes I have to strongly disagree. I didn't laugh as much on the last disc, but this volume is well worth watching. Episode 14: The J.C. Staff is stumped on what should be done for the next half of Excel Saga, so they introduce Ropponmatsu, an android working for Kabupu and developed by a scientist with a fetish for young children. Parodies: Excel Saga producers, Intel Celeron processor, Powerepuff Girls. Episode 15: The J.C. Staff is in another pickles since they made way too much merchandise on Ropponmatsu after she was destroyed. So they rewrite her back into the show with… Read more

I have read many anime books that mention some of the more popular anime titles out there, but never have I seen a book that catalogs every anime from the 20th century. The way the book was setup was pretty cool also. It lists the credits, type of feature, running time for all related features to it and a content warning on some of them. Every anime is covered in this book. Nothing is overlooked. They even included the wartime anime cartoons and the long forgotten Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors that told the story of cute animals of Japan attacking the British.
