If you already have several years of experience playing around with a computer and various programs or web sites, the majority of the content of this book you already know. The author simply puts a name tag to each of the concepts and design patterns. Most of the concepts and design patterns are common sense and already done on a subconscious level without really thinking about them.
I'd only recommend this book to someone who's not software savvy and who's deciding to make a career change as a software developer.
