Space 1999: The Complete Mega Set DVD ~ Martin Landau
Space 1999: The Complete Mega Set DVD ~ Martin Landau
I actually bought all 8 seperate 2 disc boxes rather than wait for 6 months until this 'mega-set' came out. Either way, you are getting the entire series of Space 1999, which hasnt aired on TV where I live for 20+ years. A great collection for fans. On an intresting note, A&E have a 17th 'bonus disc' which includes a 'series finale' that wasnt ever aired, only available on their website.
I definatly recommend getting this series from amazon.com and then checking out the 17th disc on A&E's site.
The Flintstones: The Complete First Season DVD ~ Alan Reed
I glad this series has made it to DVD, but to be honest, the picture quality is lower than I expected, and I didnt expect much considering the age of the cartoon.
Granted, the image is mostly sharp and the colors are bright, but the digital compression artifacts and pixelization that is present at all times is pretty bad, and is fairly distracting... the cartoon looks pretty 'dirty' alot of the time, and its not from the original prints... upon inspection using pause and zoom, its evident that its just compression artifacts, which Im assuming were caused by mistake, cus I can make a better, cleaner looking mpeg2 file on my obsolete home pc using a software encoder. :P

Duran Duran:Sing Blue Silver DVD ~ Duran Duran
Duran Duran:Sing Blue Silver DVD ~ Duran Duran
Its nice to see that some of the music videos and concerts that were previously available on VHS are finally being released on DVD. I hope that the 'powers that be' decide to release other cool and rare stuff like Adam & The Ants 'Prince Charming Review' on DVD. That was one great concert on VHS thats long been forgotten, and is long out-of-print!
This DVD comes in a velvet box. Its pretty slick, but the tracklist on the back is not all readable due to it being printed on velvet. Argg. Hahaha. Just like their Best Of set, Duran Duran must like packing that you cant read!
Contents wise, what can I say, its Sing Blue Silver, but now its digital! Yay!
